If you’re like me, you fill your schedule every single day of the week with appointments, hang out dates, check ups, activities, stuff, stuff, stuff… I think we can spend so much time trying to take care of others, that we do not take care of ourselves. I’ve heard it said very well, that “you cannot pour into others if your cup is empty.” I find that to be very true. // If we are constantly exhausted, we not restored to our best state, and we cannot give to our best capability. // Maybe I am the only one, but I tend to get irritated more easily when I am tired. I don’t think as clearly. I am not as patient. When I am fully rested, I can plan more efficiently and recognize more ways to show love to others. When I am extending grace and love towards myself, I find that I am able to do the same with others. If I myself am chasing after what God has called me to do, then I can encourage others to pursue their calling as well. Take time today to restore your soul. Find friends that will pour into you, as you pour into others. Go for a walk. Go for a drive. Have an extended time spent with Jesus. Whatever it takes, make sure that you are taking care of yourself today.
