| Peace, Be Still |

I used to cringe when I heard the phrase “Be Still.” I am naturally a problem solver. I love to put into action whatever needs to be done. I would always see others post the verse from Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God…” Truthfully, I would think to myself, “that is so difficult for me. God is asking me to do nothing, while I wait on Him to do something.”

I believe that there are different seasons in our lives. Sometimes God really does call us not to act. But sometimes it isn’t that God is telling us not to do anything physically. I

At all times God wants us to be at peace in our hearts with Him. God wants us to “be still” in our hearts as we trust Him. As one of my dear friends said the other day, “God wants us to have an inner peace.” I no longer cringe at the phrase “Be Still.” I rejoice! I now realize that God isn’t trying to limit my actions. God wants to give me (and you) more than we could ever imagine, and // sometimes the only way God can speak to us clearly is when we are quiet in our hearts. //

Let’s be still before God today: taking time to pray effectively (casting our cares before God, and LISTENING to Him), studying His Word and being filled with His peace, trusting that God is who He says He is, and trusting that God will do what He said He will do.

I am not sure what area of your life God is calling you to “be still” in. It may that God is calling you to continue working hard physically, yet inwardly trusting in Him, that He will reward your hard work with spiritual blessings. Be still before God today. He has something incredible to say to you.
