There are many sad stories of violence everywhere we look in today’s society. Many of us rise up and acknowledge the wrong of violence we see between man… My heart was convicted this morning.
While the violence we see on a day to day basis is heartbreaking, there’s another form of violence that we overlook so often!
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” -1 Peter 5:8
Here we see it. Satan is after us. He is more violent than any fight we’ve ever seen. My friends, it’s time to S-T-A-N-D U-P. I’m not sure about you, but I refuse to watch satan taken his toll any longer. We will not be perfect, but we must not be dormant. We are deceived into many lies, such as: our enemies are those around us, many things are greater than God (people, money, impurity, selfishness, pride, recognition…). This should not be. Satan is our real enemy, and he loves to try to deceive us into thinking what we see here on earth is greater than Jesus.
“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” -Psalms 63:3
God’s love for us is greater than life itself. My friend, nothing, absolutely nothing is sweeter than our Lord and Savior.
We must get to a place in our hearts where we are willing to fight the lies. Satan whispers so softly at times, making his words easy to believe. How will we discern the lies from the TRUTH? (John 3:33). How will we stand up??
// The only way we can stand up, is to get on our knees before the cross of Jesus. //
Pray. Pray. Pray.
At some points, I spend hours on my knees. We must! Whether we are physically on our knees, or just humble before Jesus in our heart, this must be the attitude of our being: [to get on our knees, and stay there.] We cannot expect to win this battle on our own, not without the blood and power of Jesus. After all, Jesus is the only way that we are even aware that there is a battle, His wisdom informs our hearts.
We need boldness, determination, discernment. Satan only does what we allow him to, but God is relentlessly pursuing us, with a love that we could never comprehend. Often times we go through out our day as if it’s just ordinary. God created each day to be EXTRAORDINARY. We were not made to live mediocre. We may not always have abundant materialistic things, but Jesus desires for us to have abundant life. Do we truly trust the heart and love of God who pursues us in ways that we could never conprehend? // God’s love is worth your trust. // Don’t settle for the lies. Don’t settle for that unhealthy habit, or damage of resentment in your heart. Fight back! Live above what this world has to offer, and do it by the name above ALL names: the name of JESUS.
Start with prayer. Start today.
